Presentation

The Degree Programme in Innovation Design is provided in English and restricted to a maximum of 40 students. The Programme involves multiple universities, namely the University of Ferrara (Department of Architecture and Department of Engineering) and the University of Modena and Reggio Emilia (Enzo Ferrari Department of Engineering and Department of Science and Methods for Engineering). The Master's Degree Programme takes into account the instructions of national and international operators and stakeholders, a careful analysis of the national and international educational offer, with the specific purpose of creating a new training profile, not currently existing in the traditional offer.

Course content

The Programme contents deal with the following thematic areas: 1- Area of Innovation design for human needs. Aimed at providing skills, methods and tools for the development of innovative design projects, based on people needs. Also aimed at training students to work in a multidisciplinary team. 2-Area of Innovation engineering. Designed to provide skills, methods and tools for the development of technology solutions and realisation processes aimed at making innovative products and services practically feasible and sustainable. It is also aimed at teaching students to make a quantitative assessment of the project and report it to industrial realities. 3-Area of Innovation management. Designed to provide skills, methods and tools for an analysis of the scenario and the market, to define the strategies and project management of innovative products and services. It is also aimed at teaching students to understand and build relationships with institutions, organisations and bodies leading to the market and the society for which the products and services are designed and provided. 4-Area of Synthesis Its purpose is to provide technical methodologies and strategies for the synergic application of the skills and tools learned during the Study Programme in the development of the final thesis project. In particular, three final synthesis laboratories are offered, parallel to each other and strictly linked to the entrepreneurial history of the territories involved: Educational technology innovation (Reggio Emilia), Mobility innovation (Modena), and Health and wellness innovation (Ferrara), in which students will have the opportunity to work directly with a specific industrial reality and assess their self-management and programming skills.
