How to apply for residence and Declaration of regular stay in MODENA

RESIDENCE - how to apply and required documents

Applicants can only register online by filling in the form on the RESIWEB portal. Once the form has been filled, it must be printed, signed and uploaded on the RESIWEB portal with the requested documents:

  1. Identity Card (front and back sides) or passport;
  2. Proof of enrolment;
  3. Financial Statement: document certifying adequate financial resources for the period of the residence in Italy (minimum € 467.65 per month or € 6,079.45 per year);
  4. Proof of Health Insurance Coverage which covers the risks of illness and injury on the Italian territory and which is valid for one year. If the course lasts less than one year, the Health Insurance Coverage should be valid for the same duration of the course
    OR
    European “S1” form that you must obtain PRIOR to your arrival in Italy, from the healthcare institution providing insurance coverage with in your home country.

The procedure is completed in 45 working days, period within which the new residence will be confirmed subject to checks by the local Police. The Registry Office will inform the applicant and the municipality where the applicant was previously residing.

Attention: If you move your residence to Italy, you will no longer be covered by your National Health Service and your EHIC will no longer be valid abroad. Therefore, before moving your residence make sure that you can obtain an European “S1” form or a substitute form from the healthcare institution providing insurance coverage in your home country.

REGULAR STAY FOR EU CITIZENS - how to apply and required documents

After obtaining the residence permit, applicants must book an appointment by phone, calling +39 059 2032077 on Monday from 9.00 AM to 1.00 PM.

The following documents are required:

  1. Regular stay certificate for EU citizens, temporary (Attestazione di regolarità soggiorno per cittadino dell'Unione Europea (non permanente));
  2. Identity Card (front and back sides) or passport;
  3. Proof of enrolment;
  4. Financial Statement: document certifying adequate financial resources for the period of the residence in Italy (minimum € 467.65 per month or € 6,079.45 per year);
  5. Proof of Health Insurance Coverage which covers the risks of illness and injury on the Italian territory and which is valid for one year. If the course lasts less than one year, the Health Insurance Coverage should be valid for the same duration of the course
