Brief content description
This course aims at creating opportunities for the students to learn about translation and interpreting as communicative activities. Its main objectives are: •Favouring observation of communicative dynamics where participants from different backgrounds are involved; •Improve awareness of the interactional dynamics that characterize communication and the joint construction of meanings, knowledge and relationships in bilingual communication; •Improve awareness of cultural differences and of the techniques that might facilitate intercultural communication in different settings; •Reflect on characteristics of English use of language in international contexts; •Improve written and spoken language skills; •Reflect on language and translation/interpreting learning processes
