Presentation
Born from the collaboration between the University of Modena and Reggio Emilia and the University of Parma, the Degree Programme in Health Care trains and qualifies professionals to the role of Health Care Assistant, in charge of disease prevention and health promotion and education in all phases of a person's life. The activity is addressed to individuals, families, schools and the community and is carried out by identifying people's health needs, health determinants and risk factors, and the priorities for preventive, educational and remedial action, to be activated in the different contexts also with the use of specific techniques and tools.Course content
During the training programme, students acquire knowledge of clinical-etiology, public health, preventive medicine and healthcare education, in the psycho-pedagogical and communicative fields, useful for developing skills, including behavioural skills, to implement preventive and educational actions that are effective to solve health problems. The programme consists of theoretical teaching activities (traditional lectures, seminars, work activities in small groups), and professional activities organised in laboratories and internships to be carried out in various health facilities in the area, under the supervision of tutors, in order to acquire full mastery of all the necessary professional skills and their immediate use in the workplace.Career options
At the end of the training programme, students obtain the title of health care assistant, thus becoming the health care professionals responsible for the protection and promotion of the health of people of all ages and conditions. At the end of their training, healthcare assistants carry out their professional activity in public or private health and social care facilities, as employees or freelance professionals. The Bachelor's Degree Programme in Health Care gives access to the Master's Degree Programme in Health Professions for Preventive Care or to 1st level university Master's programmes.More information
