Brief content description

The course aims to shed light on the ways in which the English language has been locally adapted and institutionalised, giving origin to several Englishes, employed by speakers of different native languages as they engage in interactions. Moreover, the course purports to provide the students with the necessary theoretical and methodological tools which will enable them to adopt a 'genre' perspective when taking into account different forms of external communication, with a particular focus on business, financial and promotional discourse.
